Broadleaf Reviews

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Broadleaf Lodge. It is a beautiful house with spacious accommodation. Our Host Jane has thought of things for all age groups to make our stay special. Whether to stay on site or explore the area it is a place we would return to.

Lovely property, extremely comfortable and well maintained. Extremely peaceful location down a little lane. We loved sitting in the conservatory early evening watching all the birds on the huge front lawn. Very lucky with the weather which made a huge difference. Highly recommend.

The property was everything we could have wished for. Equipment and furnishings to a high standard and the enclosed rear garden was great for our dogs. Congratulations to Jane for such a great property. We loved it.

Jane was a pleasure to meet. We didn’t require any assistance. Owner lived next door if required. Lovely big home. Would have loved to put wood burning stove on but it was hot. Would love to return in the future.

Excellent accommodation with plenty of room and great facilities. Very clean and well maintained. Broadleaf lodge is by far the best accommodation we have stopped in. Owner lives next door which was great if we needed anything, but also respected our privacy. Lots of walking right on the door step. Our dog loved playing on all of the private land the property has. Will be returning for our future holidays.

Our second visit to Broadleaf Lodge and once again a thoroughly enjoyable one; with all of the facilities on offer it is very much a home from home and a superb base to explore Lincolnshire and its many attractions.
— June 2024
Lovely spacious property. Plenty of room for different ages to either stay together or have their own space. Very clean and well kept property

Wonderfully homely from the moment you step through the door. Adequately equipped, we wanted for nothing, and a magic fairy even restocked the log shed overnight. Close enough to Lincoln for a trip, but equally tucked down a county lane for peace and the country feel. A bike ride to Donnington Hall was just one of our adventures. So much to do in the area, with pubs and supermarkets close by.

Fantastic property with absolutely everything we could have wished for. Beautiful setting. Attentive host who thought of everything. We haven’t visited this property before but will definitely return. 100/100

Another restful, peaceful holiday at Broadleaf Lodge. This was our sixth visit starting back in 2018 and we love it just as much as then. Jane has made the house a bright, comfortable place, always clean and welcoming and homely feeling with everything you need. Our grandsons and their parents came with us in the summer of 2019 and the youngest one who was then three calls Broadleaf Lodge Grandma’s other house and he would like to come again. There is always something new to discover and do in Lincolnshire and the surrounding counties and at the end of the day relaxing in the beautiful garden, taking in the scenery and the quiet. For a good day out there is the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, huge interesting sculptures set in beautiful Yorkshire countryside and indoor exhibitions. If you want a day or two of not going too far, Lincoln is an interesting city with plenty to do and is also the home of the Bomber Command Memorial, and there’s Whisby Nature Park practically on the doorstep. We’ll be back at Grandma’s other house next year.

Ideal rural property. Clean, warm and comfortable. Well located for Lincoln and all of Lincolnshire. We had a very pleasant week at Broadleaf Lodge. Highly recommended.

Another lovely week at Broadleaf. Jane is an excellent host, making sure everything is just right for a perfect stay. Would highly recommend.

Great Lincolnshire holiday property. Lovely, well equipped property for 6 adults and 2 children. We had a great holiday here with friends and our dogs. Very dog friendly with a large paddock and enclosed rear garden. Great walks from the door, many of which would be suitable for a mobility scooter user. Excellent ice cream to be had at Daisy Made Farm.

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our all to short a stay at Broadleaf Lodge – a truly terrific property!

We enjoyed excellent meals and service at the Pyewipe and the Railway Inn and can also strongly recommend the Horse and Groom in Lincoln, if it is not already known to you.

Broadleaf Lodge is an amazing place to stay. Whether you choose to stay on site or want to go out and explore this accommodation had everything we needed. From games and activities to the ultimate comfort of our surroundings, Jane has thought of everything. Would definitely recommend as somewhere to stay as it is dog and child friendly also. We look forward to returning again x

Broadleaf Lodge was a lovely home from home experience. It is set in a lovely area. Jane the owner is very friendly and helpful and our dogs loved exploring in the paddock. There was a heatwave whilst we were there so we didn’t explore as much as we would have done. We ate out at Tequilas Mexican in Lincoln, also the Pyewipe and The Greek house at Burton on the water, all of which were very enjoyable.

Excellent location yet so close to an historic city. The house is of a high standard and well designed. The garden is ample room for a pet dog to run around, in addition the dog poo bins in the garden is a well thought thing. The house is designed in such a way to give the holiday guests a warm atmosphere and a pleasant stay.
— August 2023
We had a wonderful stay at Broadleaf Lodge. Plenty of room for 6 adults and two dogs Lovely spaces to spend time together but also to split off and relax if needed. The house was well equipped and very clean. We enjoyed visiting much of the surrounding area with dog walks from the doorstep as well as country parks and places of interest within very short distance by car. We would recommend this house to anyone wanting a relaxing stay away from it all!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the lodge.

Broadleaf Lodge definitely has the Wow! factor from the moment you pull into the very long driveway. The extensive lawn, trees and shrubs all add to the wonderful setting and the garden equipment, games and furniture are everything you could possibly need. The window boxes set off the house which is so attractive and well designed. Inside the house is so spacious, room to get together or spread out and the kitchen was very well stocked with crockery and equipment should you wish to cook. The bedrooms were all very spacious and the bathrooms modern and very attractive. We didn’t get chance to use the balcony but it would be a lovely spot for morning coffee! The setting so close to the Old Wood was perfect for us and our dog who absolutely loved the outside space. Jane was extremely helpful and obviously has an eye for detail and design, she also left a lovely surprise for us to enjoy in the kitchen which was very kind. There was so many lovely walks and places to visit on the doorstep, Doddington Hall was a favourite with my parents. We also had many lovely meals including The Bottle & Glass at Harby and The Pyewipe Inn. Thank you Jane for a wonderful stay, hope to be back at some point!
— July 2023
A beautifully clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated property in rural Lincolnshire, just a few miles from the City Centre. Jane, the property owner, could not have been more helpful leading up to and during our stay. Information in places to visit, local walks, pubs and shops was all provided which took away any stress upon arrival. Hour-long country dog walks start from the end of the long, crunchy driveway and yet within minutes you can be in the pretty village of Skellingthorpe with its pubs and local store. We visited Sutton on Sea which is just over and hour away, the Lincolnshire Aviation Museum (with an operating Lancaster Bomber) as well as spending time in the beautiful city of Lincoln itself. It was truly home-from-home and we would love to go back and have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.
— July 2023
Thoroughly recommend. The house was extremely clean and had ample space to relax and enjoy the lovely garden in the good weather. Dog friendly too with plenty of room for them to run about. Jane greeted us on arrival and even put our grocery delivery away that was delivered earlier in the day. Great location. This is one of the best houses we have stayed in throughout the last 21yrs of holidaying in the UK.
— June 2023
Wow, what a place, I want to live there! Nothing too much trouble, very clean and tea and coffee provided. We had a family gathering for one afternoon and relaxed for the rest of the week. Great location. Will return.
— May 2023
Broadleaf Lodge ticked every box, it was a taste of pure luxury for our family on a very special birthday trip and one we will truly remember. Set in beautiful settings this stunning house has everything to offer with lovely rooms, a fabulous kitchen and stunning bedrooms and bathrooms. Our dog was allowed to stay and the owners had even left bowls/towels etc. The house is a very short drive to the lovely town of Lincoln with lots of things to do in the close vicinity. I would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back and visit! The house was so lovely, my girls really didn’t want to leave and there were a couple of very sad faces on the day of departure!
— May 2023
Absolutely beautiful, superb, high quality property in an incredibly peaceful and lush corner of the countryside. This was a family/friends stay for a milestone birthday and each of us agreed it was the loveliest and most perfect holiday home we had ever stayed in. The rooms are tastefully decorated and every last detail has been considered. Take binoculars as you’ll spot lots of birds on the lawn. The wonderful design of the house allows maximum light to enter and we enjoyed sunshine in the mornings on the balcony then in the private garden area in the afternoon. Although there are plenty of attractions close by (Bransby equine charity a particular hit) but we found the house was so perfectly suited to our needs, we were loathe to wander too far (even the 7 and 11 year old preferred to stay there!) Host Jane is amazing - generous, thoughtful, friendly and extremely accommodating. A place we wish to return to again and again and will live long in our memories. A real oasis of calm - and astonishingly, the photo’s do not do it justice - thank you Jane for a truly lovely week.
— April 2023
What a fab home! We had a super stay, great location really comfortable and relaxing “lodge”. We will be back - next time with Bailey (4 legs, waggy tail) to enjoy the countryside - Thank you
— March 2023
Wonderful lodge is all done in a very high standard, everything you need is there. In a lovely location, perfect for walking. Jane is very welcoming and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend Broadleaf Lodge.

A wonderful rural escape. Jane has made the house very welcoming, it is always very clean and comfortable and you immediately feel at home and there’s a little treat of cake or biscuits for you when you arrive after your journey. This year was our fourth visit, it is such a lovely peaceful place to relax and wind down in beautiful surroundings, although the second visit our daughter, son-in-law and two small grandsons came too, so not quite as relaxing! Jane provides plenty of toys and games for both indoor and outdoor use and the boys enjoyed playing football, croquet and racing up and down the very long front lawn. Skellingthorpe is in the heart of Lincolnshire giving easy access to the rest of the county, it’s coast which has lovely sandy beaches, the Wolds, and if you don’t want to venture far, the woods that Broadleaf sits in are good for walks too. If you’re lucky like us you may spot a goshawk flying through and over them.

So much to see and do in such a lovely place we’ve booked again for next year.
— October 2022
We spent an absolutely fantastic time in the most wonderful of settings, the house was immaculate and had everything you would want in terms of kitchenware, bedding etc.The enclosed garden was wonderful for our two doggies and approx 15mins walk you will find a wonderful wood. If you are lucky enough to stay in this place no doubt you will love it as much as we did and will be rebooking next Spring.

We booked Broadleaf Lodge as our wedding venue and it was everything we could have wished for!! Jane was an absolute pleasure to deal with and she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was everything we envisaged. We booked the house for two weeks to ensure we had time to set up our wedding marquee on the grounds, and had time to have meetings with Jane to ensure everything ran smoothly.

The house was absolute bliss, a little piece of heaven in the countryside. It was equipped with everything a family would need for a stay, including a bbq which we made use of, along with the fire pit which made for a lovely relaxing evening with a glass of wine!!
The house itself was extremely well kept and clean, and the beds were a dream to sleep in!, pure comfort! We were also very lucky to have booked our stay after the new bathroom refurbishment, the deep freestanding bath was just luxury!
We also loved the fact that there were two living rooms, meaning the children could watch their tv programmes in one room, yet the adults could still watch what they wanted in the other lounge!

We could not have chosen a more perfect venue for our wedding! We will always hold Broadleaf Lodge very dear in our hearts, and we were very emotional when we had to leave. This was not just a venue, it was memories made that will be forever cherished. We can not thank Jane enough, with her help and advice she felt more of a friend than a business woman and me and my husband have already discussed how lovely it would be to rekindle memories again by staying again in the future.

Lovely accommodation. Lovely location down quiet lane surrounded by countryside. Walks from the door. Everything you need in the property. Beds really comfortable, kitchen fully equipped. Our young dog enjoyed the gardens and the property is dog friendly. Was able to close all doors to the hallway at night so she couldn’t roam the downstairs without supervision and the stair gate would have stopped a dog from going upstairs (ours does not go upstairs at all) The time went too quick. Would fully recommend. Many thanks to Jane who answered any queries we had. The electronic booklet about the property prior to our holiday was extremely useful.
— September 2022
The property is very spacious with all the equipment you need. The owners send a digital information pack out beforehand which is really good and very useful. It is only 5 miles outside of Lincoln but in really nice peaceful countryside. Our dog loved playing in the gardens (enclosed smaller rear and open front). Dogs are not allowed upstairs (ours usually sleeps upstairs at home), but he settled well and wasn’t a problem. The owner (who lives next door) was very responsive if needed but otherwise after the initial meet and greet left us to enjoy our time. Apart from visiting Lincoln, we mostly visited National Trust properties. We drove to Sandilands beach one day which was just over an hour away. Thank you for a lovely stay, we would certainly recommend a stay here

We have recently returned from a weeks stay at Broadleaf. This was our second stay and we were not disappointed. The decorating that has been completed over the winter is beautiful. The house is a real home from home. Jane was a great help prior to our stay, assisting with finding a riding school for our granddaughters birthday surprise. Jane is always on hand if needed but never intrusive. Our granddaughter and the dog loved the garden. Inside the house there is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We enjoyed our time there so much we booked to return a further twice before we left. There is plenty to do and see in the area, an ideal location.

We had a fabulous stay at Broadleaf Lodge, May 2022. In total we were a group of 6 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs. There was ample space for us all to enjoy inside and outside, with amazing woodlands on the doorstep to explore. It is set in a beautiful and peaceful location, Jane is onsite and extremely attentive and helpful should you need anything. All the information provided in advance is really helpful and the property has all the amenities you need. The kitchen was great to cook in as well as the outdoor bbq. We hope to stay again in the future and on departure wished we had booked a longer stay as it was hard to say bye to such a lovely place! Thanks for a lovely break and great memories :)

Broadleaf Lodge deserves a 5*+. There is plenty of internal and external space to enjoy. Jane, the host, warmly welcomed us, with a cake, and introduced us to the property, should you have any questions or difficulties, which we didn’t, Jane was on hand to answer them. There is plenty to see and do in the local area and we noted that many visitors, unsurprisingly return. We will be back.

Jane was a perfect host, several weeks before we were sent a very detailed, comprehensive welcome pack by email, which was very helpful and helped us with planning and preparing, and helped us with an easy arrival using the recommendations for the local co-op and fish and chips which was a 10 minute drive in Saxilby. There was milk in fridge and cake for our arrival which was so thoughtful. Jane is next door but left us to it and was on hand to help with any question. A lot is already there for you, like hand soap, herbs, oils, coffee machine & beans etc..its very well equipped. House is beautiful, peaceful and a pleasure driving up to it, in superb surroundings, and is much roomier than photos show, it has a lovely snug with large TV as well as a conservatory, plenty of room for 4 adults and our dog. Fire we used on cooler afternoons/evenings is huge, cosy.. And really warms the place up. Bedding and towels excellent quality. Great location with short drives to places of interest, and only 15 minutes into Lincoln. We had a fab week our dog loved the back garden which is very secure. My only thing to make it even more perfect would be larger dressing table mirrors and a large wall mirror in the other double room too. Enjoy this stunning place and Janes inspiring story

House and gardens were immaculate, well equipped and it was such a joy to spend our holiday there everything was perfect for adults, children and dog. Hosts where amazing very friendly and helpful.

Broadleaf Lodge is one of those gems hidden away in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside. Great facilities and spotlessly clean and small touches like a folder of local walks makes all of the difference. Jane is available when you need her (which we didn’t) and we had a great week away and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Had a wonderful week at Broadleaf Lodge.
Highly recommended. Lovely comfortable, pristine accommodation. Definitely 5 star!
— MARCH 2022 GUEST
From the moment we arrived I was impressed with Broadleaf Lodge.
It was immaculately presented and spotlessly clean. Although 5 adults, a baby and 2 dogs were staying the week we never felt on top of each other. When we wanted to spend time together we could, but there was also enough space for people to enjoy some quiet time alone if they wished. The conservatory was a great hiding spot for those wishing to read in peace and also handy for hiding our little girls birthday presents in until her celebration at the end of the week! The dogs enjoyed the freedom of the garden, paddock and whole downstairs and settled well sleeping in the utility (even though they are both bed dogs at home!). There were even toys and books for the little one so we would have managed easily without bringing our own. The log fire was cosy, the kitchen well equipped and the beds comfy. The addition of two beautifully appointed bathrooms was the icing on the cake. Even though the house is situated away from the village, it is an easy walk or drive to the shop with post office and pharmacy and a good deal of other amenities and attractions are within easy reach. One day a few of us went to Lincoln which was a short drive to the park and ride at Waitrose then a 10 minute bus ride to the cathedral. Another day we tried Doddington Hall which has lovely walks and shops even though the hall and gardens were closed. Jane was a lovely host, greeted me on arrival then left us to it, but always responded quickly to messages on the odd occasion we needed anything. After leaving we gave some feedback which she has taken graciously on board and fully seen from a guests perspective. We genuinely didn’t want to leave and will definitely try and return in future to enjoy this beautiful house. 5 stars all day long!

Jane gave us a very warm welcome - in person and with the fire lit in the living room and cake in the kitchen. The house is really well designed and decorated and very comfortable for our party of 5 - 3 humans and 2 dogs. The back garden is enclosed and ideal for the dogs. There were beautiful walks - woods at the end of the road and country parks and dog friendly nature reserves within 10 minutes by car. Lincoln was a 15 minute drive and we really enjoyed exploring the city. It was great having Jane on hand to answer any questions and also great that we felt that we had the house and garden to ourselves. We had an absolutely wonderful time and are hoping to go back soon.

We had a very relaxing enjoyable week. Jane has ensured that everything you may need in a holiday home was provided. Everything was to a very high standard. The beds were comfortable with good quality bedding and towels. It is a beautiful house with spacious accommodation, set in amazing surroundings. The large paddock was made available to us, our pooch and grandchildren as well as a very nice enclosed garden. We could not fault any of it and will hopefully return in the near future.

A beautiful and very unique house with plenty of space, indoors and out.

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Comfortable beds... spacious accommodation.

Wow... Beautiful! We stayed here as a family of 8 over the New Year period. What can we say - a beautiful, spacious house with everything you could wish for. It was warm, clean and a huge ‘thank you’ Jane!
— TRIPADVISOR REVIEW
Exceeded Expectations - We have been to Broadleaf House twice. The first time last year it was just the two of us and it was so peaceful and relaxing. The second, this August, we went with our two grandsons and their parents, maybe not quite as peaceful but just as relaxing. There is so much space for the boys to run around safely that you can keep an eye on them from the very comfortable settee in the conservatory or go out and join in with all the outdoor games provided by Jane. The house is central to many interesting places, the beach, the city, the Wolds and lots of airbases you can visit. A wonderful time was had by all three generations.
— GEORGANNE
A Marvellous Week - Having had 11 cottage (actually large house) holidays in the last 3 years all excellent, Broadleaf House is up with the best. We went to visit Lincoln for a Christmas week and this was far better than any hotel or B&B stay!
— TRIPADVISOR REVIEW
Exceeded Expectations - the house is very big and very comfortable and well equipped. All around you can enjoy a beautiful garden. All the furniture, the beds and the kitchen are of high quality, everything was very clean. The owner lives next door, she is very friendly and very helpful. The house is surrounded by beautiful nature in a quiet area. In the evening you can see wild rabbits in the fields. The town of Lincoln is not far away and is easily accessible by car. We would highly recommend this address.

Fantastic place to stay. Everything you could want. Jane the owner was lovely and very welcoming. Lots of places to visit and things to do close by. Will definitely go again.
